'I'iwi Climbing a Māmane Plant


(Drepanis coccinea) - 'I'iwi / Scarlet Honeycreeper This was taken at Hosmer Grove in Haleakala National Park. This is the only place on the island of Maui that they reside because it is above 4,000 feet. It is highly interesting that they are one of Hawaii’s remaining native species. Hosmer Grove is one of remaining rain forests in the world to find this bird.
